Cricket Blast
The Woolworths Cricket Blast Program is a fast, fun and active program emphasising maximum participation, basic motor and cricket skill development. It is experience based and builds its foundations on the essentials for lifelong involvement in physical activity and sport.
By participating in the Woolworths Cricket Blast Program, children will learn the basics of cricket and develop many other skills. Children will play game-based activities each week to keep them active, have fun, and learn about cricket.

Juniors
Kyneton Cricket Club provides junior cricket for boys and girls aged U11 to U17. We strive to create an enjoyable and secure environment for juniors to learn and play cricket under the guidance of accredited coaches. The Club emphasises fun and inclusion at all junior cricket levels.
New players are welcome, and coaching is available to help players who have not previously played competitive cricket.
While junior teams are mixed-gender, we also field all-girls U13 and U15 junior sides. Learn more here.

Junior teams have one training session per week starting at 4.30pm.
U11: Monday

U15 Girls: Wednesday
U17: Thursday
U15 and U17 players are welcome to train with the Seniors on Thursdays from 6pm.

Seniors
We welcome senior cricketers of all ages and skill levels. Our teams play in the Gisborne & District Cricket Association’s synthetic-wicket competition, featuring a balanced mix of experienced and emerging players. We’re proud to promote talent from our strong junior program, and new players are always welcome.
Men’s Competition
The club will field a Club Grade side for the 2025–26 season, playing a one-day format ideal for adult players and junior players seeking to experience senior cricket in a supportive environment.
Match Day: Saturdays, 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Training: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00pm

Senior: $295
No charge for registered junior players also playing senior cricket.
Women’s Competition
For the 2025–26 season, the club will field a women’s team in the GDCA Kookaburra Women’s League. The competition follows a T20, nine-a-side format, with matches played on Sundays.

Kyneton Cricket Club fields Under 13 and Under 15 Girls teams for players aged up to 15. Both teams play T20-style games on Friday nights in a fun, inclusive, all-girls competition.
Girls who are over 15 but new to cricket may be eligible to play under a dispensation.

The cut-off date for Junior age groups each season is 31 August (e.g., a U17 player must not have turned 17 as of 31 August of that season).

Parental involvement is encouraged to support the players to help with the smooth running of the match. Some parents volunteer to be Coach or Team manager and this is welcomed by the Club. On match days some parents may be asked to volunteer their assistance with helping the players get equipped (helping with pads/helmets) and/or scoring.

Yes, Helmets are mandatory for all junior players and must be worn when batting. The wicket keeper is also required to wear a helmet (and leg pads) for safety reasons.
